Terms of use

The rules for using the BizTeach website and, from launch, the learning platform. Plain language, Irish law, and your consumer rights kept intact.

1.About these terms

These terms are between you and BizTeach Ltd. [company number to confirm], Donegal, Ireland ("BizTeach", "we", "us"). They apply to bizteach.ie now and will apply to the BizTeach learning platform when it launches in September 2026, together with any plan-specific terms we show you at sign-up.

By using the site you agree to these terms. If you are under 18, please read them with a parent or guardian. If you are under 16, a parent or guardian must create your platform account with you.

2.Using the website

You may browse the site, join early access, and send us feedback. You agree not to:

  • copy, scrape or republish our content or brand assets without permission, beyond what your browser needs to show the page;
  • try to gain access to any part of the site you are not meant to see, or interfere with how it works;
  • submit anything unlawful, abusive, or that contains someone else's personal data without their permission;
  • use the site in a way that breaks Irish or EU law.

3.Early access and the free resource pack

Joining early access is free and creates no obligation on you. We will email you the Business resource pack and occasional updates as BizTeach is built. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any email or by contacting us.

Early access does not guarantee a place on any plan, a launch date, or a particular set of features. We will do our best to keep you informed as things firm up.

4.Educational content, not official advice

BizTeach provides study materials and guidance for Leaving Certificate Business. We work hard to keep it accurate and aligned with the NCCA specification and the State Examinations Commission's published marking schemes, but we are not the SEC, the NCCA or the Department of Education, and nothing on BizTeach is an official statement from them.

Any feedback, score, mark estimate or grade band shown by BizTeach or by Biz is study guidance only. It is not an SEC grade and it does not predict your result. Always follow your teacher's and the SEC's own instructions, especially for the Business Alive Investigative Study.

5.Biz, our AI study coach

Biz is an AI-powered tool. It can be wrong, incomplete or out of date, and it may misread what you ask. Check important points against your notes and your teacher. Our Acceptable use of AI page sets out what Biz will and will not do, and the rules for using it, and forms part of these terms.

6.Your own work

Anything you write or paste into BizTeach stays yours. You give us permission to process it only to provide the service to you, for example to let Biz give you feedback on it. We do not use your work to train AI models and we do not publish it.

You are responsible for making sure that work you submit for assessment is your own, in line with the SEC's rules on academic integrity. BizTeach will not write assessed work for you, and using it to do so is a breach of these terms.

7.Our content and brand

The BizTeach name, logo, Watt the mascot, the design of the site and our notes, questions, feedback frameworks and illustrations are owned by BizTeach Ltd. or our licensors and are protected by copyright and trade mark law. You may use them for your own personal study. Any other use, including sharing our materials publicly or using them commercially, needs our written permission.

Exam questions and marking schemes referred to on BizTeach are the property of the State Examinations Commission and are used for educational purposes.

8.Accounts and paid plans (from launch)

When the platform opens you will need an account. Keep your login details private and tell us straight away if you think someone else has used your account.

Paid plans, prices and what they include will be shown clearly before you buy. As a consumer in the EU you have a 14-day right to cancel a distance contract; where you ask us to start providing digital content within those 14 days, you acknowledge that the right to cancel is lost once we do, as the Consumer Rights Act 2022 allows. We will ask for that confirmation at checkout.

If the platform is faulty or not as described, you have remedies under the Consumer Rights Act 2022, including repair, replacement, price reduction or refund. Nothing in these terms takes those rights away.

9.Availability and changes

We may change, pause or withdraw parts of the site or platform, and we may update these terms. For account holders we will give reasonable notice of significant changes, and you can close your account if you do not accept them. We aim for high availability but cannot promise the service will never be interrupted.

10.Our responsibility to you

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be excluded, and nothing affects your statutory rights as a consumer.

Otherwise, we are not responsible for losses that were not foreseeable when you started using the service, for business losses, or for losses caused by relying on study guidance in place of official instructions. For paid plans, our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the issue arose.

12.Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of Ireland, and the Irish courts have jurisdiction. If you live elsewhere in the EU you may also rely on the mandatory consumer protections of your own country and bring a claim there.

If you have a complaint, please email support@bizteach.ie first and we will try to sort it out. Consumers in Ireland can also contact the Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (ccpc.ie) for advice.
